Albuterol 90 mcg. per actuation Q 4-6 hours PRN
One thing folks like me hate to see in the news is a story accompanying weather that includes lines like “ground level ozone concentrations within the region may approach or exceed unhealthy standards”. Of course, I don’t need a story to tell me that.
What I’m trying to say is, its nasty out.
Update: After thinking about this post, I was interested in seeing how July 2007 compared to last July in the Air Quality Index (AQI) statistics. Unfortunately not all of this year’s numbers have been verified for the month of July but I’ll show them both anyway.
July 2006
July 2007
Clearly this year’s July was better than last though we are off to a bad start for August.
Will the albuterol mean you won’t pass the doping controls after the race though?
I’m sure I’d be dropped in any UCI race long before my tests come in by not making it over the line in time… but that’s actually a good question. Does the UCI allow albuterol? I once read that the IOC considers “beta-2-agonists” (like albuterol) to have anabolic effects. In my limited understanding, I can’t imagine that the inhaled variety could possibly be anabolic in any way – but what do I know?
Do you know about the UCI John? I don’t remember hearing about any asthmatic cyclists.
I think my head just exploded trying to understand the headline on this post.
The sparklines have got me thinking a bit. About the presentation, not the raw data. I’m not sure that they’re particularly useful for comparison purposes like this. It’s clear that July ‘07 is flatter than ‘06. But is it generally lower, or of similar mean with smaller deviation? It’s hard to get an idea of any common point of comparison as they’re drawn here.
you’re probably right about about these two sparklines – I should have used the vertical line versions – but still, I think you get the idea that last July had a few peak days while this July never even had one orange day (yay!)
As to the headline – that’s how doctor’s speak to pharmacists. I guess they think it keeps common people from ordering drugs. We just break in and steal them anyway – its easier.
